Fish from Lake Como

M, one of the chef's who works with my husband and who's from Lake Como, and R, from Tuscany like my husband, brought their lovely wives O and A, came over tonight. We kitchen widows sat on the couch relaxing with wine while the boys cooked squartoni, a type of fish apparently only found in Lake Como, brought over in a vacuum-sealed poach by M's mom. I wasn't a huge fan of the fish, it was sort of red-pink and salty. But the buckwheat and regular polenta was delicious. After dinner as is customary with chefs - or at least our husbands - they flopped down on the couch while we cleaned up the gigantic mess! I guess it's not so bad really after that kind of a meal.
