New York

Massimo and I went to NYC this weekend for the wedding of the girl who introduced us, Giovanna.  We stayed at The Alex, a great modern, independent hotel at E. 45th street.  On Friday, we ate at Marea and had, among other things, sea urchin with lardo, shrimp crudo, and big eye tuna crudo with crispy artichoke.  Then, of course, we headed to Otto for pizza with aglio, olio, pepperoncino.  Lunch before the wedding, we had sandwiches at Torrisi  - chicken parm, house roasted turkey and house made mozzarella.  The wedding took place at Blessed Sacrament on 71st street, with reception at Fig and Olive.  We had breakfast at the Carnegie Deli - pickles and matzoh ball soup, and then lunch at Peter Luger's in Brooklyn!
