Let's Hear it For New York Part I

About once a year or so, Massimo and I take the train up to New York, mostly to eat.  Ok, one time we left after Massimo finished up with the ktichen table and he really wanted to drive in order to "break in" the new Audi.  Luckily, one of the ktichen table diners that night was a priest, who gave us a blessing for a "speedy but safe" trip.  We made it to lower Manhattan in a little over three hours.

This time, as I prefer, we took Amtrak, even though prices have shot up quite a bit since I would take the train home from Fordham Unveristy in the Bronx in the late 90s.  I know that route so well, I could tell you which side of the train to sit on (the right side to NY and the left side to DC) for maximum skyline views.  When you rumble over the Deleware river and peer across to see the faded green metal bridges that brags "TRENTON MAKES, THE WORLD TAKES," you know you've got about an hour left to go.

More to come...
